Everything you need to know before, during, and after your Rugged Rush. Can't find your answer? We're right here.
Rugged Rush is India's ultimate obstacle course racing (OCR) experience — a high-energy test of strength, endurance, grit, and determination. Each event features a challenging 7km course packed with 14 purpose-built obstacles, taking participants through mud pits, climbing structures, crawling zones, water challenges, and other demanding terrains.
Designed for both first-time challengers and seasoned athletes, Rugged Rush is more than just a race — it's a personal battle against limits, a celebration of resilience, and an unforgettable finish-line achievement.
Not at all. Rugged Rush is designed for all fitness levels.
The Rusher 7K category is perfect for first-timers and those looking to challenge themselves without the pressure of competition. You'll take on the same 7km course and 14 obstacles, but at your own pace — whether that's running, jogging, or walking between obstacles.
For those looking to test themselves against the clock and other participants, the Challenger 7K category offers a more competitive race experience on the same course.
No matter which category you choose, the goal is the same: cross the finish line and earn your Rush.
Rusher (7K · 14 Obstacles) — Perfect for first-timers, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone looking to experience the thrill of obstacle racing. Complete the course at your own pace and focus on finishing strong.
Challenger (7K · 14 Obstacles) — Our challenger race category for those looking to push their limits. Race against the clock, test your fitness, and see where you rank on the leaderboard.
Elite (1K · 14 Obstacles) — The ultimate test of speed, strength, and obstacle mastery. Featuring all 14 obstacles packed into a high-intensity 1km course, the Elite category is available only through application and invitation. Reserved for the best athletes and competitors, this is where the fastest and strongest battle for the top spot.
Absolutely. Participant safety is our highest priority.
Every obstacle is professionally designed, tested, and monitored by trained marshals throughout the event. Dedicated first-aid personnel are positioned across the course, with a fully equipped medical team and emergency response support available on-site at all times.
All obstacles include a safe bypass option, ensuring participants are never required to attempt an obstacle they are uncomfortable with.
Water-based and technical obstacles are operated under strict safety protocols and supervised by trained safety crews. In addition, all obstacles undergo rigorous inspections before and during race day to ensure the highest standards of safety.
Our goal is simple: deliver an unforgettable challenge while maintaining a safe and supportive environment for every participant.
The minimum age for the Rusher, Challenger, and Elite categories is 16 years. Participants aged 16–17 must have a parent or legal guardian sign a consent form before race day.
For select cities, Rugged Rush also features dedicated Junior Rush categories:
There is no upper age limit — if you're ready for the challenge, you're welcome at the start line.
Head to our registration page, choose your city and category, fill in your details, and complete payment via UPI, card, or net banking.
You'll receive a confirmation email with your bib number and wave time within 24 hours of payment. Save it — you'll need it at check-in.
Every entry includes:
Challenger category participants will also receive a race bib with an official timing chip for leaderboard rankings and competitive results.
Additional food, beverages, and merchandise will be available for purchase at the event village.
Yes — category changes are free up to 21 days before the event. Email info@ruggedrush.com with your bib number and desired category. If the new category costs more, you'll pay the difference. If less, no refund is given but a credit is added to your account.
Wave times within a category can sell out while other waves remain open. Check the registration page for live availability. If all waves are sold out, a waitlist opens automatically — add yourself and you'll be notified immediately if a spot opens.
Top: Moisture-wicking technical top. Fitted, not loose. No cotton — it gets very heavy with mud and water and causes chafing.
Bottoms: Compression shorts or leggings. Longer is better for knee protection during crawling obstacles.
Shoes: Trail running shoes with grip and drainage. Lace them tightly — mud pits will try to steal them. Avoid maximalist cushion shoes.
Optional but useful: Gloves (rope obstacles), compression calf sleeves (shin protection).
Leave jewellery, watches, and anything you'd be upset to lose in your bag.
Arrive at least 60 minutes before your wave time. You'll need to:
Late arrivals may be reassigned to the next available wave. We don't hold waves.
Absolutely. Spectators enter free of charge and are encouraged — race day energy is at its best when the crowd is loud. There are designated spectator zones at key obstacles and at the finish line.
Spectators cannot enter the course itself. We recommend comfortable shoes as the terrain can be uneven.
Yes to both. Bag drop is free at the event village, returned on presentation of your race bib after the event. Don't leave valuables; the bags are tagged and supervised but not locked.
Parking is free at the venue. We still recommend arriving early — parking queues at the venue open can be slow. Event-specific parking details are sent via email two days before.
Rusher (7K · 14 Obstacles) — No cut-off time. Whether you run, jog, or walk the entire course, your goal is simply to reach the finish line and earn your medal. Take the challenge at your own pace.
Challenger (7K · 14 Obstacles) — To be eligible for the official leaderboard, participants must complete the course within:
Participants who exceed the cut-off time can still continue and complete the race, but their results will not be considered for leaderboard rankings or competitive placements.
Elite (1K · 14 Obstacles) — Specific qualification standards, race rules, and cut-off times will be communicated to selected athletes prior to the event.
Yes. Every obstacle has a clearly marked bypass lane, allowing participants to safely continue the race if they choose not to attempt an obstacle.
Above all, your safety comes first. No marshal will ever pressure you to attempt an obstacle — the choice is always yours.
That's absolutely fine. You do not need to know how to swim to participate in Rugged Rush.
Our water obstacles are designed with safety in mind, and none of the water sections exceed 4 feet in depth. Trained safety personnel are stationed at every water obstacle, and all water challenges are closely monitored throughout the event.
If you're not comfortable entering the water, every obstacle also includes a clearly marked bypass option, allowing you to continue your race safely.
Yes — all 14 obstacles are described in detail on the Obstacles page, including difficulty ratings, what muscles they test, and how to approach each one. We believe transparency helps you train smarter and show up more confident.
Start by signing up for the Rusher 7K — it's specifically designed for first-timers and anyone looking to experience obstacle racing for the first time.
You don't need a complicated training plan. A few weeks of regular activity can go a long way:
Remember, Rugged Rush is not about being the fastest athlete on the course. It's about challenging yourself, having fun, and crossing the finish line stronger than when you started.
Thousands of first-timers have completed Rugged Rush before — and you can too.
The good news? You probably need less training than you think.
Rusher (7K · 14 Obstacles) — If you can comfortably walk, jog, or run a few kilometres, 4–6 weeks of regular activity and basic strength training is usually enough to get you ready.
Challenger (7K · 14 Obstacles) — For those aiming to compete and perform well, we recommend 6–8 weeks of consistent training, including running and strength work.
The most important thing is to arrive healthy, confident, and ready to challenge yourself. Remember — Rugged Rush is designed to be achievable for first-timers while still testing experienced athletes.
We publish free training guides on our Obstacles & Prep page, including week-by-week programmes for each category. We also host free monthly training workshops in Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Bangalore — follow @ruggedrush for dates.
Absolutely. Rugged Rush is even more fun when tackled with friends, family, colleagues, or your training crew.

Yes — team members can register in different categories and still be counted as one team for the group discount. However, for a shared wave time you'll all need to be in the same category. Mixed-category groups can still meet at the finish line and count as a social team without an official time.

Yes — entry transfers to another person are free up to 14 days before the event. Email info@ruggedrush.com with your bib number and the full name, email, and phone of the new racer. The new racer must complete a waiver before race day.
In the unlikely event of cancellation due to factors beyond our control (government orders, force majeure), all registered participants will receive a full credit transferable to any future event within 18 months.
We do not cancel for rain, mud, or adverse weather — that's the point. Events are postponed only for genuine safety emergencies.
